MailChimp API

One of the biggest providers of bulk emailing services MailChimp, is now integrated within HRS. This

provides users the ability to create campaigns, mailing lists and email content directly from HRS to

multiple recipients. You can also run reports to optimise the effectiveness of your campaigns.

In order to use the MailChimp integration with HRS Connect you will firstly need to have an account with MailChimp which can be done by visiting http://www.mailchimp.com/

When the account is setup you will need to create an API key in MailChimp.

  1. In MailChimp, Click your profile name to expand the Account Panel, and choose Account.
  2. Click the Extras drop-down menu and choose API keys.
  3. Copy an existing API key or click the Create A Key button.
  4. Name your key descriptively, so you know what application uses that key.

Once the API key has been created you will need to enter this into HRS Connect.

  1. Click Admin
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select the MailChimp tab
  4. Enter the API key from MailChimp and check the connection to confirm this is setup correctly

Prohibited Actions

  1. Sending Spam. By “spam,” we mean the definition on the Spamhaus website. In short, spam is “unsolicited bulk email.”
  2. Using any misleading or incorrect names, addresses, email addresses, subject lines, or other information on the website or in any emails created or sent using our service.
  3. Sending transactional messages through MailChimp, unless you use Mandrill.
  4. Using an outside unsubscribe process.
  5. Deleting, bulk unsubscribing, or otherwise modifying your list in order to avoid our billing thresholds

Who you can send email to:

You may only use MailChimp to send emails to people and entities that either:

1.      Gave you written (including electronic) permission to send emails to them and have not withdrawn that permission, and:

a) Gave you that permission in the past 12 months; or

b) Didn’t object to promotional content you sent them in the past 12 months.

2.      Gave you their name and email address in connection with a purchase, or negotiations to purchase, a product or service from you, have not opted out from receiving your emails, and either:

a) Purchased something from you or negotiated a purchase from you in the past 12 months; or

b) Didn’t object to promotional content you sent them in the past 12 months.
