Mailshot limitations - increasing contact mailing list to 50 with attachments

The restrictions in place of only being able to mailshot to 20 contacts in HRS needs to be increased to at least 50, you MUST also be able to send attachments in 1 template email as opposed to 20 individual e-mails

I would also suggest a great depth of fonts including Calibre

I appreciate companies will adopt this method as they have many consultants and don't want to be blacklisted however this restriction should NOT apply to everyone and this NEEDS to be amended.

I've never used mailchimp and had the displeasure of trying to navigate around their site the other day and it was terrible, HRS is an excellent database as it provides me with the facility to reach out to a high number of contacts / candidates and offer a personal e-mail approach rather then a generic marketing e-mail campaign however these restrictions will prove costly.

 

• What if the internet is down and clients want to review CV's off line or in areas with bad signal and they unable to download the CV??

• I use HRS as I want the e-mail to feel personal for the receiver and NOT a generic e-mail, never will I ever forward a CV via a web link attachment.

 

HRS / Recruitment Force is a “Recruitment” database that is supposed to quicken up recruitment process and take the stress out of mailshoting as this is one of the most important factors of any database, without this it’s simply a place to store people's information.

  When HRS Connect was built little over two years ago, we took into consideration issues that had previously been raised and we had to look at ways of minimising or preventing these issues. One big issue that came up for us was bulk emailing.

  Bulk emailing to hundreds or thousands of contact at one time presents two issues: 

   

  1) As HRS Connect is not solely a mail client and requires additional plugins to send emails, sending to such high volumes cannot be done in the background and as a result can hinder performance an productivity for the users as they would need to wait until the task was complete before they could continue with other tasks in HRS Connect.

   

  2) Spam Registers. This can become a huge problem for clients who ‘mis-use’ the database by sending out large quantity of emails at one time on regular occasions. The result of this can lead to clients email domains being added to spam registers such as SpamHaus. The result of being added to such spam registers means client’s emails will be rejected by many if not all recipients that attempt to receive the email which is flagged to them as being simply spam. Once an email domain is on a spam register it is difficult and a lengthy process to be removed from this which in turn has a significant impact on the client’s business.

   

  In order for users to have a more pleasant user experience we agreed to put a limit on the number of emails being sent out at any one point. In the two years that HRS Connect has been running this has not yet been flagged as a problem for our users.

   

  Of course, it is possible that other clients may feel that the ‘one shoe fits’ approach that Paul has mentioned does not work for them but in order to protect our clients and also to ensure that the user experience in performance remains satisfactory, we have to keep these measures in place.

   

  Because of the above, we introduced MailChimp integration which is the largest email marketing tool in the world which send over 10 billion emails a month on behalf of its users. MailChimp is specifically designed to handle large quantities of emails being sent where you can track the number of opens, number of clicks on any links and also manage your lists where you can see if any contacts have un-subscribed from your emails. MailChimp is free for up to 2000 email subscribers and 12,000 emails per month.

   

  MailChimp also allows you to personalise your email campaigns sent out just as you can in HRS. This  is controlled through setting up templates within MailChimp which allows you to use tags to set the contacts name (similar to HRS Connect).

   

  We would suggest looking at MailChimps ‘Acceptance Use Policy’ which also sets out restrictions:

  It’s possible that at a later stage on the development road map that the number of bulk emails sent could be increased but this is something that would need to be discussed with the development team.

  HRS are constantly reviewing the current features and ways in which they could be improved as well as additional features that can enhance the product and we appreciate and review all feedback.

  Alex, I agree.  Unfortunately the one shoe fits all approach doesn't work here.

  This is not what I signed up for.  Companies should be left to control their own volumes of mail shots and bare own consequences for exceeding limits.

  Hi Paul

  I believe Steve has answered this perfectly so not a lot to add here except in response to the "one shoe fits all" comment. HRS Connect is an off the shelf package with very low monthly rental fees and quarterly updates, however for customers who wish to have their own specific features added, we do have other products such as HRS Pro and previously Lite which we are happy to customise to any specification requested, obviously with a charge.

  We have included Mailgun into HRS Connect v1.6, this will allow bulk sending as required.
